Connect each waveform concern to a physical mechanism and an acceptance criterion. Reflection, attenuation, crosstalk and reference noise require different investigations. A reproducible model and measurement setup make improvements easier to evaluate.
Start with these questions
- Which voltage or timing margin is at risk?
- Are the models valid for the intended operating range?
- Do bench measurements use the same reference planes as simulation?

What to keep in the project record
Record model versions, corners, fixtures and instrument settings. Validate the complete channel when simple estimates cannot represent its important discontinuities.
