Make design intent explicit
Use readable functional blocks, consistent net names and unambiguous connector pin assignments. Include required operating modes, test points and configuration options so the layout team does not have to infer them.
Review more than connectivity
Electrical-rule checks can reveal some connection errors, but they do not establish that the circuit meets its requirements. Check power sequencing, interface levels, pull resistors and component ratings against the design conditions.
Prepare a usable handoff
Export the netlist and BOM from the released schematic. Link symbols and footprints to verified component drawings and record any approved alternatives that affect the physical design.
Prepare the review package
- Released schematic and netlist
- Power and interface requirements
- Manufacturer part numbers
- Documented review findings
