Start with rail requirements and load behavior. Power integrity connects the regulator, planes, interconnects and decoupling network to the voltage seen at the load. A large capacitor count does not establish that the required impedance is maintained over the relevant frequency range.
Start with these questions
- Which rail and operating mode creates the tightest voltage margin?
- Where are the largest DC drops and transient current loops?
- Which model or measurement will demonstrate the rail requirement?

What to keep in the project record
Record the rail budget, load cases, model assumptions and measurement points. Treat simple calculators as screening tools and use a suitable network model and bench validation for acceptance.
