A stack-up links routing space, return paths, impedance, materials and mechanical thickness. Develop it before detailed routing and confirm that the proposed construction can be fabricated. Revisit electrical assumptions if layer spacing or material changes.
Start with these questions
- Which signals need continuous references and controlled geometry?
- Do core and bonding-layer choices meet the thickness requirement?
- How are layer transitions and power connections handled?

What to keep in the project record
Keep the approved construction, layer naming and impedance table in the release. Thickness totals and simple calculators do not replace a manufacturing stack-up or field solver.
