Method and units
The copper barrel cross-section is π[(d + 2t)² − d²]/4. For N identical parallel barrels, Rθ = L/(kAN).
Model limits
This is an ideal barrel-only conduction estimate. It excludes pad spreading, plane resistance, interfaces, dielectric conduction, convection and any filling material. It is not the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance of the product.
