Turn the application into a build specification
Aerospace and defense PCB work is governed by the specific program, drawings and procurement conditions. Confirm the supplier’s eligibility and the handling rules for technical information before exchanging project data.
Contract requirements
List applicable specifications and revisions, the required product class, approved materials and any special process controls. Resolve conflicting purchase and drawing requirements before release.
Evidence and traceability
Specify lot traceability, material certificates, inspection records and test reports as deliverables. Agree how nonconformances, deviations and corrective actions will be documented.
Process qualification
Evaluate the proposed stack-up, via construction and environmental testing against the program requirements. Do not treat a generic certification badge as proof that a particular construction is qualified.
What to include in your project brief
- The actual operating environment and expected product lifecycle.
- Fabrication, BOM and assembly data under one revision.
- Required inspection, testing, traceability and shipment records.
- Any supplier qualifications or handling restrictions that must be verified before release.
