Plan the manufacturing route
A standardized fabrication workflow reduces manual clarification by using a controlled set of design rules and an unambiguous release package. It is appropriate only when the design fits the agreed process envelope. Special features should never be silently omitted to fit an automated route.
Use a clear release manifest
List the included files, revision, layer order and intended board outline. Multiple competing outlines or mixed revisions can defeat the purpose of streamlined processing.
Make requirements machine-readable where possible
Keep filenames descriptive and data consistent. Include explicit plated and non-plated drill definitions and ensure the drawing matches the supplied manufacturing data.
Escalate exceptions early
Unusual materials, tight tolerances, special plating and impedance requirements need review. Automated checks are useful for consistency but do not replace all engineering judgment.
Before you request a quote
- Remove obsolete files from the release archive.
- Run the CAD tool’s output verification.
- Cross-check outline, drills and layer registration.
- Agree how engineering exceptions will be handled.
For a build-specific review, provide the actual revision, quantity and delivery requirement. Manufacturing limits, applicable certifications and lead time must be confirmed in the written quotation.
