PCB Assembly Services

Plan SMT, through-hole and mixed-technology PCB assembly with clear sourcing, inspection and test requirements.

Plan the manufacturing route

Assembly turns a bare board into an electronic assembly through paste printing, component placement, soldering and verification. The correct route depends on package types, thermal limits, board construction and the functions you must test. Start with a coordinated data package so component references, placement coordinates and assembly drawings agree.

SMT assembly

Surface-mount parts are placed on printed solder paste and processed through a controlled reflow profile. Package density, thermal mass and solder-paste access influence stencil design and inspection.

Through-hole and mixed builds

Connectors and mechanically loaded parts may use through-hole attachment. Selective soldering, wave soldering or controlled manual operations must be chosen around the component and board restrictions.

BGA and bottom-terminated packages

Hidden joints require a specific verification strategy. X-ray can reveal some internal defects, while electrical or functional tests address different failure modes; neither substitutes for a complete test plan.

Before you request a quote

  • Mark all do-not-populate references in both the BOM and drawings.
  • Confirm bottom-side coordinate conventions and component rotation.
  • Specify polarity, programming, cleaning and conformal-coating requirements.
  • Agree the workmanship criteria, first-article approval and test records.

For a build-specific review, provide the actual revision, quantity and delivery requirement. Manufacturing limits, applicable certifications and lead time must be confirmed in the written quotation.
