PCB Quality and Certification Checklist

Verify supplier certificates, workmanship requirements and shipment evidence for your PCB project.

Verify documents, scope and applicability

A certification logo does not establish whether a particular facility, process or product is covered. Request the current document, issuing body, expiry where applicable and scope. Match those details to the company and facility named in the quotation.

Separate different types of evidence

  • Management-system certificates describe an organization and its defined scope.
  • Workmanship and product specifications define acceptance requirements for the build.
  • Material and environmental declarations address specific materials or supplied products.
  • Inspection and test reports record results for the manufactured lot or assembly.

Write acceptance into the order

Identify the required specification, revision, class and any drawing-specific criteria. Define how deviations are approved and which records accompany shipment. Do not assume that every inspection method or report is included in a base quotation.

Documentation to request

  • Approved stack-up and manufacturing release revision.
  • Component and lot traceability appropriate to the project.
  • Electrical-test results and agreed inspection records.
  • Nonconformance, repair and retest records where required.
  • Applicable material declarations and supplier certificates.

No certificate is represented on this website as a certification held by this site. Verify project-specific supplier evidence directly before approving a build.
