PCB Manufacturing and Assembly Requirements

Specify the capabilities your project needs across fabrication, assembly, sourcing and testing.

Specify the requirement before comparing suppliers

Manufacturing capability is a combination of material, geometry, process and acceptance criteria. A single minimum feature or maximum layer count does not describe whether a supplier can build your particular construction reliably. Use the checklist below to request a project-specific capability review.

Area Define in your package Confirm during review
Construction Rigid, flex, rigid-flex, layer count and stack-up Available material system and approved construction
Geometry Trace/space, finished holes, vias and tolerances Production design rules for that construction
Copper and finish Finished copper, surface finish and special contacts Process compatibility and acceptance criteria
Assembly Package types, both-side population and special operations Placement, soldering, handling and inspection route
Sourcing Exact parts, approved alternates and consigned material Availability, traceability and shortage approvals
Testing Electrical tests, functional tests and coverage Programs, fixtures, reporting and exclusions

Ask for evidence that matches the build

Where certification or qualification is required, request current documents with the applicable scope and facility. Where a design pushes a process limit, ask for an engineering review and a suitable qualification or first-article plan. This page is a specification checklist, not a claim that every listed process or tolerance is available.
